Silver Fox BR Swindon Class 126 DMU Conversion Kit

This kit is designed to convert three standard BR Mk1 coaches into a BR Swindon Class 126 DMU. 

This kit includes:

- Precision cast resin cab for the leading end

- Laser cut cab for the intermediate end

- Supplementary interior parts for the cabs and buffet car

- Laser cut thin plastic replacement overlay sides featuring scored doors

- Window glazing

- Vinyl self-adhesive for windscreen wipers, grab rails, grab and door handles

- Exhausts

- Full set of underframe and solebar components

- Parts to modify the BR1 bogies to give a more accurate representation of the DMU bogies

- Large round buffers

- Brass wire for toilet tank fillers at the intermediate cab end 

The donor coaches required are:

2 x Second Open/TSO/SO x 2

1 x Corridor Composite/CK

Bachmann or the current Hornby coaches are recommended, as these have the correct pattern gangways. 

To fit the overlays, all raised detail on the donor coaches will need to be removed from the coach sides and a strip will need to be removed where the replacement glazing will fit. 

On the two SO coaches, the ends will need to be removed to fit the cabs.

The underframe, coach end and bogie detail will also need to be modified.

A suitable powered mechanism is also required. We recommend the Hornby Class 121 or the Replica motorised chassis as being suitable to use.

The final photos show each of the three different coach types made up using Replica donor parts.
