This is a tapped grounding resistor, used with a transformer for grounding the neutral of a large AC generator or transformer. All resistor elements are stainless steel and taps are welded.
There are a total of 13 taps, as follows:
N1-G: 10.0 ohms, 24 amps
N2-G: 5.0 ohms, 48 amps
N3-G: 3.33 ohms, 72 amps
N4-G: 2.50 ohms, 96 amps
N5-G: 2.00 ohms, 120 amps
N6-G: 1.67 ohms, 144 amps
N7-G: 1.43 ohms, 168 amps
N8-G: 1.25 ohms, 192 amps
N9-G: 1.11 ohms, 216 amps
N10-G: 1.00 ohms, 240 amps
N11-G: 0.91 ohms, 264 amps
N12-G: 0.83 ohms, 288 amps
N13-G: 0.77 ohms, 312 amps
The resistor was manufactured in 2011, and had been installed but never energized. This is why the original drawings and test report are available.
When the resistor was removed from the original enclosure, it had porcelain mounting feet. We removed these but they will be included with the resistor.
