This reference 2852 Omega Constellation features the desirable combination of a silver ‘Pie Pan’ dial with rhodium plated broad arrowhead indices and dauphine hands. The dial is fully original and has developed an attractive, even patina over the years.

The serial number dates the watch to 1958, which is the last year of production of reference 2852 before 14381 was released later that year. This particular example is a rare late 2852 dial configuration that would be carried over into reference 14381: below the applied ‘OMEGA’, the text “OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED” is not present and the word “CHRONOMETER” is spelled ending -ER rather than -RE. This spelling would be used on all Omega dials from 1958 onward.

This transitional dial layout makes this watch an interesting and collectible example amongst 2852 constellations.

The case is unpolished and retains its sharp details, with a few scratches present. All stars are present on the unpolished gold Geneva observatory case back back medallion.

The watch runs well and keeps time very accurately over several days. The calibre 505 automatic chronometer certified movement is in good condition, and the rotor has been replaced at some point.

The acrylic crystal retains its Omega logo stamp, albeit faded, and there are some fine scratches present.

The watch is sold on a new aftermarket, embossed crocodile genuine leather strap in black.
