This is a copy of "An Army Wife" by Captain Charles King, a first edition published in 1896.  Containing over 30 illustrations, it portrays the challenges and social dynamics of military life on the American frontier.  King graduated from West Point in 1866 and served on the Western frontier, using his real-world military experiences to help establish the Western novel genre.
