Antique Seated Bronze Mythical Beast Censer, believed to be Chinese, however could possibly also be Japanese? I am unsure of the period, however it appears to have significant age and a beautiful patina.
There is some surface wear and aging, the tail has come loose and can be removed. The tail has areas of corrosion and holes in the metal. There is a crack on the underside of the beast and a smaller one under one of the front legs. There is also a small hole in this area. There is a residue inside this beast - perhaps the build up of soot over many years of use, or perhaps intentional?
It measures 26cm long x 16cm tall x 10.5cm wide. It is heavy weighing 2.45kg
