Now seems to be the right time to list this; a collaborative effort by musician/poet Exene Cervenka and award winning photojournalist Kenneth Jarecke, this sobering examination of the first Iraq War is compiled from his photos of its participants, alive and dead, and her comments. Think of this as more impressionistic photojournalism than a dry, factual account; Jarecke's photo "Incinerated Iraqi On Highway 8" became one of the defining images, and it and others like it are here, along with the more mundane, in full page black and white. A necessary reminder of the face of war: you'll see from the list of plates (number 48 for instance) that the contents are confronting yet honest.
