Beautiful vintage Sonsco Japan porcelain teacup and saucer set featuring a romantic courting couple scene with rich burgundy accents and ornate gold detailing.

The saucer features an elegant reticulated/pierced border with scalloped edges, gold trim and a coordinating courting couple scene. The footed teacup has a matching burgundy band, decorative gold floral scrollwork and gold-accented handle.

Marked with the original SONSCO JAPAN foil label on the bottom of the cup.

Saucer measures approximately 6” in diameter. Cup measures approximately 2.5” tall. Please see measurement photos for additional sizing details.

Vintage pre-owned condition. There is noticeable wear, fading and loss to the gold decoration, particularly around the upper rim of the cup and along portions of the saucer edge. Additional age-related surface wear may be present. No obvious chips or cracks were observed. Please review all photos closely as they are an important part of the condition description.
