Hello,

This pot was made by Yuji or Yuuji, son in law to Yukizyou Nakano, founder of the famous Gyouzan Kiln in the Tokoname region of Japan. Known as the best modern day living potter, especially for mid size and larger unglazed pots. He's internationally known for his great works and his pots are seen in nearly every kokufu ten album in the past 30 years or more.

He learned well from his father in law and makes great pots that are on a commission only basis. Basically he will make 3 pots for a customers request. The customer will choose the best and he sells the other 2 as none of them are totally the same.

All his pots are handmade and none of them are exactly the same as the next.

-nice size and shape, ironically these smaller, large shohin size ones, are the same or more expensive than the 14-16 inch ones. Has a small chip on the rim, no cracks.
