This is a beautiful chair. The carving on the back rust in my opinion is beautiful. In fact, I don’t know how anybody can do that. It looks like it’s a potted plant pattern carved into the center. This chair comes to a client of mine that I’m consigning a bunch of stuff for. The only major flaw is that it is missing a spindle that goes in the front on the bottom. The spindle not being there the chairs is still pretty solid. In fact, I sat on it and I’m 250 pounds. The best thing to do is to replace the spindle. Unfortunately, it broke off with the pieces of wood still stuck into it. This is how I got the chair therefore I do not have the spindle. One will have to be created for it. The rest of the chair is in very good condition considering its age. There’s typical robs and scratches and chips. Nothing appears cracked. None of these robs are scratches very large and nature. a little bit of fading to the wood, which is normal older chair. I mean, fading to the color of the brown. You can see some areas or lighter than others. But if this were polished up real nice, I think it would look even better than it already does.  This chair is not very big. It’s only 34 inches tall. And it’s 16” x 16”. Therefore it’s not typically something a large person like myself would want to sit on. As I said though it is sturdy. This is the only chair I have like this. This was actually in a living room and it was not being used to be sat on. It was simply for decor.  This does come from a smoke-free home.
