An Old Rare Authentic Soviet Epoch Oil on Cardboard Hand Painting with the PORTRAIT of Alexej Stakhanov (Famous Soviet Miner Shock worker).Author Volodymyr CHERNIKOV (1918-1992), well-known Ukrainian artist. On the backside there is the signature of the Chernikov grandson, to confirm the Artist signature. The Measures 19.5" x 31.5" (50 x 80 cm). Good work and good condition - see photo for all details. I am selling these items from Ukraine now, the post is working a little slow, but as usual dependable. I was born in the USSR and I was 26 years old when Ukraine became independent in 1991 in accordance with Article 3 of Treaty on the Creation of the USSR (1922, December 30). I know very well the difference between living in a totalitarian country and living in a free one and I believe that Ukraine has the right to exist as a free and independent nation and I am participating in charity projects in Ukraine now.

Soviet Ukrainian artist, master of easel and monumental painting. Honored Artist of the USSR. Member of the USSR Union of Artists.
Chernikov Vladimir Mikhailovich was born on January 15, 1918 in the city of Lisichansk. In 1939 he graduated from Voroshilovgrad (now Lugansk) art school. Participant of the WW2. From 1946 to 1951 he studied at the Kiev Art Institute from E. Sagaidachny, A. Shovkunenko, I. Kudryavtsev, K. Trokhimenko and K. Elieva. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. The husband of the famous Ukrainian artist Vera Sogoyan.
He was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor, medals, the Diploma of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR. In 1973, Chernikov, V.M. awarded the title – "Honored Artist of the USSR". Member of the CPSU. He worked in the field of easel painting, graphics and posters. The main works: “Donetsk miners” (1957); “Brigade of Hero of Socialist Labor M. Mamaia” (1960); “Portrait of the Miner Stakhanov AG” (1970), “Deep Horizon” (1963); “Friendship over Tisa” (1964 – 1965); “The Southern Frontier” (1968); “On Lenin’s watch” and others. In the 1950s he participated in the design of the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy in Kiev. He participated in exhibitions: republican since 1951, all-Union since 1957, foreign since 1959. The artist died in Kiev on March 17, 1992. The works of V.M. Chernikov are kept in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, Donetsk Regional Art Museum, in private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
