Antique Riding Boot Style Copper & Brass Umbrella Stand - England - 21" Tall.

Unusual and very typical object of a wealthy house of the late Victorian - early Edwardian period 1890 - 1910.
Could have been used either for umbrellas or walking sticks.
Nicely formed embossed sheet brass with a copper foot, stirrup and spur in cast brass, it has been given only minimal cleaning to preserve the patina, but it would shine up nicely if you preferred that look.
The base is marked “Made in England”. In very good order, heavy solid and still useable - pub - club etc not common to find one in such good order, the copper has toned to a very matt finish, as is usual.

Low starting price and no reserve.

As with a lot of older collectibles, items are sold on an “as seen” basis, which means they may have some small blemishes, scratches or other imperfections simply due to their age, unless otherwise stated. Please study any pictures very carefully as they form part of the description, and if you have any queries, please ask. Items may also be advertised elsewhere, so auctions may be subject to ending if item is bought on another platform. Thanks for looking, and happy bidding.
