Vintage Kusan Navy Set. Circa 1958. Unusually nice condition ( I hesitate to use the term “New”, but I feel that is the best description as there is really no signs of use on the set, but see the many provided photo's to draw your own conclusions). Set was purchased, then sealed in aftermarket plastic wrap, and put away back in 1979. Seeing it's first light of day here now in 2026. Engine tested: Ran right away after power applied, light illuminated (see photo). The engine does not posses a set of horns, but I am not sure if it ever came from the factory with any (in fact, all photo's in Greenberg's Kusan book shows this loco without them). Radar Dish turns when car in travel as designed. The rocket looks to be in great shape with no noted flaws (probably the cleanest example of one of these I have ever seen). The radar antennae still retains it's hair-like detail it was born with (see photo closeup). There are a few “blemishes” on the radar car side structure (see last 2 photo's). I don't think these were caused by use or wear, it's just that after 65+ years, plastic tends to do some funny stuff as it ages(?). All the vertical coupler extensions are in place, except on missile car (not sure if that was by design at Kusan or not, but worth mentioning). Master Carton remains in great shape, no corner splits or the like.  Still retains it's bright ruby red color.  I will probably ship the set in 2 boxes (the master carton in 1, and the fragile engine & cars themselves in another), at my expense.
