The pieces are presented in their original fitred case. Both pieces are clearly marked “STERLING” and “H.T. JARECKI,” the noted Erie, Pennsylvania jeweler and silversmith established in 1862. The pair has a substantial combined weight of 122.9 grams and displays exceptional raised floral, scroll and beaded detailing. The pierced server is particularly striking, with an elaborate openwork bowl.
The set retains its attractive aged patina with normal surface wear consistent with age and use. The original fitted presentation case shows age-related wear but remains intact. A handsome example of early American sterling serving ware and an excellent addition to an antique silver or flatware collection.
