Abraham-Louis Breguet occupies unrivaled status as the most influential watchmaker in history — inventor of the tourbillon in 1801, the Breguet balance spring, the perpetual calendar mechanism, and countless other foundational contributions to horology. The Tradition collection, launched in 2005, uniquely inverts the movement to display Breguet's most celebrated mechanisms on the dial side, drawing inspiration from the souscription pocket watches he sold by advance subscription in the 1790s. Reference 7047 unites two of his most consequential inventions: the tourbillon and the fusée-and-chain transmission, a constant-force mechanism where a fine 232-link chain unwinds from the mainspring barrel onto a cone-shaped fusée pulley, ensuring consistent torque to the escapement regardless of state of wind.
The 41mm case in platinum measures 15.95mm thick, distinguished by the signature fluted caseband, individually welded lugs with screw pins, and ultra-domed sapphire crystal. The off-centered blue hand-guilloché gold sub-dial at seven carries the traditional "Clous de Paris" pattern, Roman numerals, individual serial number, and Breguet pomme hands. The visible Caliber 569 — a 542-component hand-wound movement with fusée-and-chain transmission and one-minute tourbillon with titanium cage and silicon balance spring — delivers 50 hours of reserve, completed by a midnight blue alligator strap with triple-blade platinum folding clasp.
