DESCRIPTION
A beautifully presented French style bedside cabinet, combining elegant traditional styling with quality later craftsmanship. Designed in a graceful serpentine form, this attractive cabinet features exquisite floral marquetry inlay to the drawer fronts and top, complemented by decorative brass ormolu mounts that give the piece an authentic French character.
The cabinet is fitted with two practical drawers, each opening smoothly to provide useful bedside or occasional storage. The lock is complete with its working key, which also serves as the drawer pull, a charming traditional feature often found on furniture of this style.
Raised on elegant cabriole legs, the cabinet has a light and refined appearance while remaining strong and sturdy throughout. The rich figured veneers, contrasting inlay and flowing serpentine profile make this a highly decorative piece that presents beautifully from every angle.
Overall, the cabinet is in good condition and presents very well. There are some surface water marks and wear to the top consistent with age and use. One of the keyhole escutcheons is missing, as shown in the photographs, although this does not affect the operation of the drawers or lock. The cabinet remains strong, sturdy and ready for use.
