The Cobra is among Audemars Piguet's most architecturally distinctive pre-Royal Oak dress watch designs — a cushion-form case whose defining characteristic is the twisted rope or "cobra coil" bezel that encircles the case perimeter, giving the reference its name and providing a textural contrast between the sculpted bezel and the smoother dial surround that no contemporary AP dress watch has replicated. The twelve diamond hour markers on this example elevate it further within the Cobra hierarchy.
The white gold cushion-form case carries the characteristic twisted rope bezel encircling the perimeter with its deeply sculpted coil texture. The champagne dial presents twelve individual diamond hour markers — one at each hour position — with blued-steel hands. The integrated white gold herringbone-weave bracelet flows directly from the case, its broad woven surface covering the wrist in a design characteristic of high-end Swiss dress watches of this era. A Swiss manual movement powers the watch.
