Genuine Ancient Roman bronze coin of Aelia Flaccilla, Augusta and wife of Emperor Theodosius I, mounted as a 18” necklace pendant in a silver setting. Authenticity 100% guaranteed.
The obverse depicts Aelia Flaccilla facing right, wearing an elaborate imperial headdress and draped garments. The reverse shows Victory seated right, inscribing the Chi-Rho Christian monogram onto a shield resting on a column. The original reverse legend is SALVS REI PVBLICAE, meaning “Welfare of the Republic.” This distinctive type was issued during the late fourth century AD.
The coin has substantial ancient wear, surface roughness, deposits and areas of dark patina. Although portions of the legends are no longer clear, the imperial portrait and Victory reverse remain identifiable.
The coin is enclosed within the pendant setting. Because the lower portion is covered, the mintmark cannot be read and the precise mint and RIC catalog number cannot be confirmed.
The necklace, pendant and ancient coin shown in the photographs are the exact items included. The chain and setting are silver-tone metal; precious-metal content has not been tested or verified.
Please examine all photographs carefully for the coin’s condition, pendant construction, surface details and overall appearance. This is an attractive wearable piece combining an original late Roman coin with an important early Christian Chi-Rho design.
