1982 Large Date Bronze Lincoln Cent

Mint Error: Struck 70% Off center (Reverse Uniface or Capped Die)

This gloriously lustrous and iridescently toned error was only partially identified by PCGS. Yes, it is struck 70% off center, but it is also stretched, and the reverse is uniface. It was either struck through a capped die, or through another planchet (brockage). Either of these occurrences could have resulted in the stretched ring of metal between the strike and the blank planchet, as well as the uniface reverse. There seems to be a very faint ghost image of part of the Lincoln memorial in the central reverse. This could have transferred through a capped die, or through a planchet, in some circumstances. An amazing multi-error piece.
