This item for sale is a beautiful set of Time Titan Magnesium Pedals: Early clipless series pedals in the rare titanium spindle version. These pedals are brand new fresh out of the box. Contents complete with original new cleats. Classic iconic vintage new old stock. Prime choice for that period-correct, catalogue-spec high end build. Updated 1991 model year (brighter red colour plus white Time logos). The first high-end pedal produced by Time Sport in France. Developed by Roland Cattin following his departure from Look, these pedals revolutionised the sport by being the first to feature lateral and angular float. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a legendary piece of cycling history from the early 1990s. These were a favourite pedal of Greg LeMond, and a host of other late 1980s and 1990s champions. Built for maximum weight savings, this setup features a high-grade lightweight magnesium alloy body combined with a hollow 6AL/4V titanium axle. It sits in the absolute ultra-lightweight tier. Time pedals powered Pedro DelgadoGreg LeMond, and Miguel Indurain to consecutive Tour de France victories between 1988 and 1992.

At just 348 g per pair (174 g each), these pedals deliver a flawless balance of lightweight performance and rugged durability. Equipped with a standard 9/16" spindle and sealed cartridge bearings, these pedals provide incredibly smooth operation and long-lasting durability. Pedals utilise biomechanics and a large pedal platform for comfort and stability.

The $300.00 retail price was astronomical at the time—a massive sum back then. Represented the best of the best road pedals and the finest, best-working pedal in the world. And today, it can still hold its own against other pedals.

Time’s guiding principle lies at the heart of its pursuit: Le Defi. Translated from French, Le Defi means "The Challenge," it’s more than just a motto — it’s a way of life for Time with extremely well engineered products right out of the gate.

Everything shown in the pictures is included but the last seven pictures are for reference only and are photos of Greg LeMond's 1989 TT/ TdF and his 1990 Tour de France bicycle, pages from the official 1990–1991 Time Product Catalogue, and a selection of historic pedals from the Time archives, see pictures (18 - 24).
