Background:
Exclusive event T-Shirts were sold the opening night only in 2007, at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio where they opened a major music exhibition called "Break on Through: The Lasting Legacy of the Doors". The show celebrated the 40th anniversary of the band's recording debut. The exhibition officially opened on Friday, May 25, 2007. Two surviving members' of The Doors made an appearance, guitarist Robby Krieger and keyboardist Ray Manzarek were present for a reception meet and greet the day before the public opening.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's exhibit display brought together instruments, clothing, rare photographs, concert posters, manuscripts of Jim Morrison's handwritten lyrics, and personal items from the band members. Manzarek expressed his approval of the exhibition, stating that it "covered The Doors history from pre-Doors..., all the way through post-Jim Morrison". The Doors were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993, well before the 2007 exhibit.
