Offered for sale is an authentic vintage Thorens Excelda, the iconic Swiss-made portable gramophone from the 1930s often referred to as the Cameraphone due to its resemblance to folding pocket cameras of the era. This highly sought-after unit features the classic textured crackle-finish exterior, a side-mounted leather carrying handle, and the original compact suitcase design. The internal spring-wound worm-gear motor is functional, and the platter rotates smoothly when the crank is engaged. The heavy-duty cast metal tonearm and soundbox assembly are present. Please note the soundbox is missing the stylus, and the aperture contains metal fragments. This item is being sold strictly as-is for parts or as a rewarding restoration project for an antique audio collector.
