While Charles Horner passed away in 1896, the prolific jewellery manufacturing company he founded in Halifax, Yorkshire, continued producing high-quality silver and gold pieces well into the late 20th century. During the 1960s and 1970s, the Charles Horner firm mass-produced highly collectible novelty charms, including magic "secret message" spinner pendants like this one, hallmarked through nearby northern assay offices like Sheffield and Chester
