First half of 20th century. Set of four vintage
French solid silver (‘argent massif’ inscription on the box, centaur mark for Ercuis 925 silver quality on each silver lid of the shakers) and faceted glass salt and pepper shakers made by the reputable French silversmith company Ercuis. The small, individual-sized shakers come in their original box and feature faceted
glass bodies and decorative pierced silver tops.
These sets are frequently described as "petits salerons de table" (small table salt cellars) and were popular in the early-to-mid 20th
century.
