This is a lovely loosely fitting, round-necked sweater and this is one of Kaffe Fassett's richest designs. This design was originally published in 1985.
The three-dimensional patterning is achieved with only two main colours - a flecked tweed on a deeper background - brought to life by vivid strips in shades inspired by chintz, brocade and damask fabrics.
In very good vintage condition.
The knitter has added a circle of elastic to the waistband so it is tighter at the waist, but this could very easily be removed if preferred.
Please check the measurements below to be sure of the fit.
Chest, from armpit to armpit is 27", length from shoulder to hem is 30" and sleeves from armpit to cuff are 19". The waist measures just over 19" across (it would be more if the elastic was removed - see photos).
Please note that this is an amateur homemade knit, not a professional knit, so there may be inconsistencies in the knitting, like the odd dropped stitch etc.
