This impressive European-made bedframe dates to approximately 1950 and reflects the refined elegance of the Louis XVI Revival style. Crafted by European artisans from richly figured mahogany, the bed has a grand architectural presence enhanced by graceful curved lines, decorative moulding and finely detailed gilt-bronze mounts.
The warm mahogany-brown finish is beautifully complemented by gold-tone floral garlands, classical medallions, scrolling ornaments and other neoclassical decorations. These details appear throughout the headboard and footboard, accentuating the elegant silhouette and giving the bedframe a luxurious and highly decorative appearance.
The centre of the footboard features a beautiful oval panel with a romantic pastoral scene, individually hand-painted in oil.
The composition depicts elegantly dressed figures relaxing in a peaceful natural landscape surrounded by trees, greenery, water and atmospheric scenery. Soft colours and detailed brushwork give the scene a classical European appearance inspired by traditional decorative painting.
The painting contrasts beautifully with the rich mahogany and is framed by ornate gilt-bronze floral decoration, making it the main artistic focal point of the bedframe.

The bedframe can be easily assembled by connecting the headboard, footboard and two side panels.
Its practical four-piece construction also allows it to be disassembled for convenient transport, delivery and placement inside the home.
