Lew Archer is called Lew Arless in the early British Editions of this book, because there was a character called Maxwell Archer in books by Hugh Clevely published by Cassell who also published the first edition of this book
Pages very browned, cover creased and grubby. Spine faded and browned. Bold signature on title page which has bled through onto the next page. Good reading copy
