Beautiful antique Victorian pressed flower display housed in an original embossed leather Union case. The case features an ornate molded exterior, original velvet/silk lining, gilt brass mat, and glass covering a carefully preserved dried botanical specimen.

This style of case was originally made to hold daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, or tintypes during the mid-1800s. Whether this botanical arrangement was created as a memorial keepsake, sentimental memento, or later artistic display is unknown, but it presents beautifully and retains wonderful Victorian charm.
