Library Mascot Cage Match

Published in 2005, this is the third volume in the Unshelved collection series.

  • Content: It features a year’s worth of daily Unshelved comic strips.

  • Special Feature: The book includes an exclusive, 24-page full-color graphic novelette titled Empire County Strikes Back. In this story, the staff of the Mallville Public Library must defend their library against an "invading futuristic bookmobile".

  • Recurring Elements: The collection highlights storylines involving library mascots and the return of the masked vigilante known as "The Shusher".

Book Club

  • Published as the fourth volume in the series, this collection continues the daily exploits of the Mallville Public Library staff.

    • Content: It collects the fourth year of the Unshelved comic strip.

    • The "Unshelved Book Club" Context: While the book is titled Book Club, it is a standard collection of the comic strip. However, the title pays homage to the real-life "Unshelved Book Club"—a project started by the authors where they created full-size, color Sunday comic strips specifically to recommend books to readers, as they felt the standard 3–4 panel daily strip didn't provide enough space to properly discuss them.

A note on grading. Grading is very subjective and comic grades may be lower or higher than stated.
