This is a scarce item, The Toby Book, bound in this hard cover are six editions of TOBY An Illustrated Magazine for Modern Youth. This is Volume 12 and includes the numbers 1 through to 6. This is for the year 1929 and this would have been quite a luxury as this was near the beginning of the Great Depression and the United Kingdom was badly affected. There is some fraying to the bottom of the spine and the spine and a little bit of the front cover have been faded by exposure to the sun. The lining paper on inside has started to tear slightly and a child has written their name in pencil.  The interior is very good, some browning to the edges band three of the colouring competition pages have been coloured in with coloured pencil.  The  book is approximately 29cm high.
