Most likely silver plated with some plating wear - see images. Extends and retracts properly. There are a couple extremely minor pin-sized nicks if you really study the piece.

Extra leads stored inside. 1.2 mm. lead. Squared barrel is 7.5 mm. per side. 35.56 cm. overall.

The Boyertown Burial Casket Company was based in Pennsylvania, specifically in the town of Boyertown, Pennsylvania, which is in Berks County, northwest of Philadelphia. The company was founded there in 1893.

According to an article found: “At its peak in the mid-20th century, the company employed over 1,000 people and produced more than 60,000 caskets annually, ranking as the second largest casket maker in the world. Its products were chosen for notable figures including Harry Houdini — who commissioned a custom coffin for his legendary escape act — as well as Marilyn Monroe, Robert F. Kennedy, Liberace, and international dignitaries like Sun Yat-Sen.”

Pencil itself is somewhat common, the engraving makes it special.
