Large 17th Century Italian Venetian Portrait of Caterina De Giunta, wife of Senator Giunta, oil on canvas by Justis Sustermans. Excellent quality and condition circa 1630 three quarter length portrait of Caterina Giunta wearing a black bodice and gown embodied with pearls, an intricate lace ruff collar and cuff and a glove in her left hand to display her aristocratic status. Inscription bottom right identifying the sitter. Unsigned as with all of Sustermans work but authenticated through Christies (stencil numbers verso). Presented in its original ebony frame.
