PACIFIC COAST CONFERENCE RECORDS BOOK 1916-1959, edited by Bernard A Hammerbeck (acting Commissioner), Office of the Commissioner, Los Angeles, 1959.  Printed by Lederer, Street and Zeus, Berkeley.  Large stiff black covers, approximate size 8.5x11 inches, 142 pages.  Fifth and final edition of this Conference record book, for that matter the final publication of this grand old conference.  Five schools joined together to form the AAWU while the remaining four became independents.  By 1964 eight of the nine schools had re-joined together in the AAWU prompting one scribe to remark "it was a helluva lot to go through just to get rid of Idaho."  The final record book of the PCC covered Football (35 pages), Basketball (21 pages), Track and Field Athletics (31 pages), Baseball (9 pages), Rowing Crew (5 pages), Swimming & Diving (10 pages), Tennis (6 pages), Golf (6 pages) and Cross Country (2 pages).  The Football section contained roster of past coaches, past all-americans, year by year records of each school, past PCC standings, pictures and selections of all time all-PCC players revealed in 1948 (3 teams deep), all time scores school vs school in the PCC in a large fold out page, all time roster for lettermen at the nine schools, list of PCC champions and Rose Bowl results.  A lasting tribute and final record Pacific Coast Conference 1916-1959.  Already by then...a conference of champions!  MOST UNCOMMON TODAY...DON'T PASS THIS ONE UP.
