The compact unit mounts neatly to your bike's seatpost and uses rearview radar to detect vehicles approaching from behind at distances of up to 140 metres. When paired with a compatible Garmin Edge cycling computer, selected Garmin wearables or a compatible smartphone, it provides clear visual and audible alerts, giving you more time to react and position yourself safely on the road.

When connected to a smartphone, the Garmin Varia app displays the position and relative speed of approaching vehicles using graphics, vibration and audible notifications. The radar can also integrate with compatible cycling apps such as Ride with GPS, overlaying traffic alerts directly onto your navigation screen.

The integrated rear light offers multiple lighting modes to suit different riding conditions, including an ultra-bright daytime flash mode that helps drivers see you from up to one mile away. A dedicated Peloton mode provides a lower-intensity flash that's more comfortable for fellow cyclists during group rides.
