Up for auction/sale is a beautiful, authentic piece of Puerto Rican cultural folk art: a hand-carved depiction of Los Reyes Magos (The Three Wise Men) on horseback by celebrated artisan (santero) Pedro Santana.

​This stunning piece features all three kings (Melchior, Caspar, and Balthasar) fully mounted on their respective horses, fixed to a solid, single wood base. Carved in July 1993, this sculpture showcases the classic faceted chisel work, vibrant hand-painted details, and gilded crowns characteristic of premium Puerto Rican santos carving.

​The underside of the base is heavily documented, featuring Pedro Santana’s workshop ink stamp, an incised hand-carving reading "SANTANA P.R.", and a handwritten signature reading "P. Santana / Julio 1993". The artist also explicitly noted the wood type used: "CEDRO + CEDRO" (Spanish Cedar), prized by collectors for its beautiful grain, durability, and traditional aromatic qualities.
