Fine Mold 1/72 Aircraft Series U.S. Air Force F-4D Fighter Night Attacker Plastic Model 72747 The U.S. Air Force modified 71 of the 825 F-4D aircraft produced with LORAN-D antennas (AN/ARN-92) and operated them as "pathfinders" that guide fighter-bomber squadrons while receiving signals from tactical navigation signal stations on the ground.
These aircraft were also painted black on the underside of the aircraft as night fighter-bombers (night attackers), and played an active role in Operation Linebacker at the end of the Vietnam War.
The LORAND-D antenna is called a "towel hanger" among domestic and foreign military aircraft fans.
The kit precisely reproduces the LORAND-D antenna with plastic parts.
