Antique Shadowbox Picture Frame
American, Victorian era, circa 1875.
Two-part frame.
Carved walnut wood with gilt composition inner border.
Multiple concave and convex rounded and curved surfaces ( see the photos ).
The inner section has a wide cove ( gold painted ).

This frame was made for an 8" x 10" photograph or picture.

Frame overall size (outside dimensions) :  12" x 14"
The frame is about 2" deep, overall.

Rabbet : 8 1/16" x 10 1/16"
( an 8" x 10" picture fits )

Sight : about 7 3/8" x 9 3/8"
( this is the viewing area, as seen from the front of the frame )

Mitered corners.
Constructed with original hand-cut "square head" nails.
No glass ( an 8" x 10" sheet of glass is easy to obtain ).

Includes the original wooden back board.

Condition.
General surface wear, scuffs, etc.
The frame is square and tight.
A former owner painted the original gold inner cove with gold paint. 
Just needs an 8" x 10" sheet of glass, a few small nails to hold the backboard in place, and a wire hanger.

About 150+ years old.
