A pastoral landscape with a farm boy and girl sitting under a spreading shade tree beside a sheep meadow. 
As shepherds have done for thousands of years, the barefoot boy plays music on a flute to soothe the flock and pass the time.

The print is after a painting by American Impressionist painter Edward Henry Potthast (1857-1927).
His signature is at the lower-right of the image, " E. Potthast ".
Potthast is known for his paintings of people at leisure in Central Park, landscapes, and beach bather scenes in New York and New England.
His work is included in many major museums in the United States.


The print is mounted on its original 10" x 12" board.
Over 120 years old.

The board is damaged at the outer edges (se the photos).
The print has a couple of scratches but is otherwise good.

Carefully packed for shipment to the buyer.
