Please take the time to review all my other listings after you have looked at this one!  I will be listing a broad and diverse range of Vintage Communications and Technology items, related Books, Periodicals and Ephemera...something for everyone!

Here we have a very scarce loop antenna.  This is the earliest version of the Deutsche Telefonwerke und Kabelindustrie, AG Rahmenantenna (Loop Antenna).  It is quite unique in that it has four different attachment points for receiving different wavelengths:

A number of DTW antennas were imported from Germany by the Tobe Deutschmann Company of Boston in the 1920's, but this Loop has only DTW labelling.  The "DTW" Logo appears prominently in the middle of the speader frame, is engraved into the heading indicator dial and a "Made In Germany" tag appears on one end of a base leg.

This four-legged loop is in excellent original condition, one of the finer ones I have seen.  It is of very robust construction utilizing hardwood, steel and aluminum components and is of spring loaded collapsible design.  It boasts its original high Q Litz wire windings, wire spreaders, connection panel and aluminum compass heading indicator. Once opened in to the operating position, a substantial locking thumbscrew keeps everything in place and the base is leveled with a precision screw mechanism which can also be locked in place.  There is one screw head missing on one of the spreaders.  The engraving and coloring on the connection panel is in great original condition with only a few modest gaps in the fill.

It stands an impressive 42" high and is about 39.25" at its widest point.  The base is a four legged, steel reinforced design and is 15.75" x 13".  The loop cage is about 4.25" deep.  It collapses down to about 30" in height.

If you are looking for a scarce and substantial 1920's Loop Antenna or collect Loop Antennas in general, this one from DTW absolutely belongs in your collection!
