When not in use, store the strap rolled in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep it away from heat sources or sharp objects that could potentially damage the webbing or grip. Avoid using body oils or lotions before practicing as they can leave residue on the surface and reduce its grip. 

To clean, wipe down using a mild soap or a gentle mat cleaner, ensuring you rinse thoroughly as any soap residue may affect the straps grip.
