Thomas Forester & Sons was a prominent British pottery manufacturer, established in Longton, Staffordshire, in 1879. The company became particularly known for its high-quality decorative wares, including vases, and was active through the early 20th century. Their 'Phoenix' line often featured elaborate designs with rich glazes and metallic accents, catering to the tastes of the period.

These 7” vases, dating to the turn of the 20th century, represent a period when decorative ceramics were highly sought after. The combination of cobalt blue and gold, along with the bulbous form and slender neck, is characteristic of the aesthetic preferences of the late Victorian and Edwardian eras, blending artistic flair with opulent finishes.
