RARE RUSSIAN OTRHODOX ICON IN BRONZE 
Bronze triptych travel icon from the 18th/19th century.
Icon of the Mother of God “Joy of all the afflicted” depicting the Virgin Mary surrounded by the afflicted and suffering, offering comfort and intercession. 
The upper part shows three angels, seated at the table: this is the Trinity of the Old Testament. 
Above the Trinity is a rectangular painting decorated with the image of Christ. On the right and left, two cherubs. 
The plaque in the center of the triptych, finds the Mother of God, a staff in her right hand. 
With her left hand, she blesses a group of people who extend their hands towards her. 
Mourning and suffering people surround the growing image of the Mother of God on both sides, among whom angels are visible, who also console the faithful. 
To the left and right of the head of the Mother of God, the large letters MP and ФY, below the titles, are visible, indicating the Greek version of the spelling “Mother of God” – MHTHP FEOY (Mitir Fiu). 
Folding doors feature various saints
A powerful representation of divine compassion and mercy, deeply revered in the Orthodox tradition.

The upper part features three angels seated at a table: this is the Old Testament Trinity.
Above the Trinity is a rectangular panel adorned with the image of Christ. To the right and left are two cherubim.
The plaque in the center of the triptych features the Mother of God, holding a staff in her right hand.
