• Initial Construction: Built largely by convict labor, mules, and dynamite, the route carved a narrow ribbon through the rugged mountainside. 
• The photographer credited on this postcard is Charles Webster Beam ((1882–1933), a commercial photographer and postcard publisher who operated under the imprint "Photo BEAM, Hollywood." 

Artist signed. If various web sources are correct, the canyon was paved in 1915- therefore thiis postcard would date to 1915 or before.
