Vintage Meissner Model EX Signal Shifter Exciter / Transmitter. This classic piece of amateur radio history dates from the late 1940s and was designed as a variable-frequency exciter capable of operating on the 80, 40, 20, 15, and 10 meter amateur bands.
This unit is being sold AS-IS, FOR PARTS OR RESTORATION. It has not been tested in any way. The unit is missing three tubes, so no attempt has been made to power it up.
Included tubes presently installed are:
• JAN CRC-807 VT-100A Beam Power Tube
• RCA WR150-30
• USN CRC 38250
• Ken-Rad 6V6GT
• RCA 6U5 / 6G5 Magic Eye Tube
The chassis appears complete overall, but because it is untested and incomplete, please assume it will require service, restoration, alignment, and additional parts before operation.
The Meissner Signal Shifter is highly regarded among vintage amateur radio operators and collectors. These units were available as either factory-wired units or kits and feature an 807 final amplifier stage and precision tuning system.
Please examine all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description. This is an excellent candidate for restoration, display in a vintage ham radio collection, or as a source of original Meissner parts and tubes.
Sold strictly AS-IS with no guarantees due to age and unknown operating condition.
