This is the Small Date/Non-magnetic Variety. The date is smaller, and the pebbling design does not extend under the legend lettering.

The 1968 on small date varieties is notably smaller than on the large date version, with the background pebbling design absent beneath the legend lettering on small date coins. (It is easiest way to differentiate.)
