Ceramic Baby Crib Cradle Planter Trinket Box 1960's Wind-up Works
This charming
item is a vintage mid-century ceramic musical nursery bassinet (often used as a
planter or trinket box). It was manufactured in Japan for Rubens Originals
(also known as Rubens Japan). The "R" in a circle stamped on the
bottom is the hallmark for Rubens, and "129" is the specific model or
mold number for this design. This is in mint condition. The windup still works
and also has an on-off switch. You won’t find a better cleaner like item, this
is truly a gem and in mint condition. This might cost a little more than others but you won't find one in such great clean vintage condition. Looks almost brand new 50-60 years old.
Based on the
style and manufacturer, this piece dates back to the 1950s or 1960s. These were
popular baby shower gifts, typically playing a lullaby like "Rock-a-bye
Baby" or "Brahm's Lullaby."

"Thank Heaven for Little Boys" theme. This mid-century treasure was
made in Japan by Rubens Originals and features the authentic Rubens
"R" hallmark and mold number 129 on the base.
