This piece is an antique oak hand-carved wood wall sconce made for a candle, wall pocket or to hold matches. It is designed in the traditional folk art of the Black Forest style. The middle section features an integrated chalice-like vessel that is whole without a flat side. This piece has detailed open scroll-work featuring leaves and gothic-revival style fretwork. This style was highly popular in Europe throughout the 19^th and early 20^th c. It has the desirable antique old bubbled finish and is in overall good condition save for a portion of one of the leaves at the top has been lost. Please enjoy the photos for the best look. It will display well and measures 10” top to bottom and 4 ¾” w. across the back.
