A small, but lovely dyed green chalcendony and marcasite cross pendant in sterling silver (marked 925). The cross is prong-set and the twelve (12) marcasites are bezel set (likely glued, too) at the ends of each of the four (4) arms of the cross. The bail has a single prong-set marcasite and moves easily agove the cross. The cross measures approxiamtely 1 1/2 inches x 1 inch (including the bail) and has a relatively low profile, measuring approximately 4mm tall at the areas where the prongs hold the dyed green chalcedony. The bail opening will accommodate a cord or chain approximately 1/12 mm in width maximum. The cross weighs a total of approximately 3.65 grams.
Overall condition is very good, pre-owned, with tarnish throughout in keeping with this being a vintage, silver piece. The chalcedony is a uniform, dark green and the marcasites seem securely affixed to the setting. The bail seems securely attached to the bail at the top of the cross.
