A silver compact with guilloche enamel, depicting a landscape, with a variant of Thomas Moran's "Moonlight in Venice" painting.

The painters who created these compacts took artistic liberty and reproduced this famous painting in numerous variations, and this is another example. The scene is beautifully rendered with subtle color variations in the guilloche enamel, which literally glows. The image on the lid completely covers it.

The silver marking is located on the edge of the clasp.

The lid has a mirror inside, and a gold-colored rotating filter on the bottom.

Very good condition.

The enamel is free of chips or cracks.
