Appears to be a mask worn by those belonging to the Ngil association of the Fang people of Gabon whose duty was to preserve social order.
Measures approximately 15" tall x 7" wide x 5" deep.
This is vintage and pre-owned; Estate found. This was part of a huge collection that was built and maintained over MANY years by its previous owners. There is wear and weathering that can be seen throughout from this pieces many years of handling and display, but nothing that takes away from the appearance of the piece. There may be some small nicks or chips in the wood. Being sold exactly as pictured above. Please refer to the photos for a more accurate representation of the item's condition.
This striking decorative piece has a rich vintage patina and makes an excellent statement wall hanging for collectors of folk art, ethnographic décor, or African-inspired carvings.

Boxes for shipping; We will no ship to P.O. boxes.
