Please take the time to review all my other listings after you have looked at this one!  I will be listing a broad and diverse range of Vintage Communications and Technology items, related Books, Periodicals and Ephemera...something for everyone!

This is a very scarce Radio Instrument Company Receiving Transformer/Loose coupler manufactured in Brooklyn, New York.  I have done nothing to this device since finding it preferring that it remain in its original state.

It is in good condition for the early wireless component that it is, showing the general wear and blemishes consistent with its age, use and authenticity.  The primary and secondary windings are loose in some areas while the covered wire secondary does have some staining.  The forward support for the stationary primary coil has split where the slider support fastens to it...pretty typical for these devices.  It can be glued and clamped if desired.

The robust, brass mechanical rods that allow the secondary to move within the primary coil also provide the connections from the secondary for the detector circuit through brass sleeves in the coil form end pieces.

If you collect early wireless components or just love scarce loose coupling devices, this would make a great addition to your collection shelves!

The loose coupler is about 15.5" wide, 6" deep and stands 7.5" tall.

Shipping weight will be about 10 pounds.

If you have any questions, just send me a quick message!
